Emmanuel Pahud performs Mozart’s Magic Flute Fantasy Finishing Touches Rehearsal

OVERVIEW
Experience a behind-the-scenes look at the process of bringing our concerts to the stage during our Finishing Touches rehearsals. This is a working rehearsal and selections from the weekend’s program will be made at the discretion of the conductor.
Emmanuel Pahud—Principal Flute of the Berlin Philharmonic, one of today’s most adventurous and exciting musicians, and the Utah Symphony’s 2022-23 Artist-in-Association—joins for beloved melodies from Mozart’s The Magic Flute as well as Nielsen’s nimble and lively Flute Concerto.
While Berg’s Lyric Suite is a coded and romantic message to his illicit lover, there is nothing subtle about Janácek’s Sinfonietta, which celebrates the newly liberated Czechoslovakia with blazing glory and no fewer than a dozen trumpets! Continuing Thierry Fischer’s annual exploration of Haydn symphonies, No. 12 packs abundant radiance and joy into just 15 minutes.
