Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 3
Enjoy the ride as the 2022-23 season begins with a thrill—from the heart-racing energy of Wagner’s iconic Ride of the Valkyries and John Adams’ pulsing Short Ride in a Fast Machine, to Strauss’ magnificent Ein Heldenleben (A Hero’s Life) evoking heroism through virtuosic artistry.
The Berlin Philharmonic’s Principal Horn Stefan Dohr makes a special appearance for Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 3—a work written for a friend and filled with warmth—and also shares center stage with three of the symphony’s own horn players in Schumann’s rarely performed showpiece, making this an unforgettable Opening Weekend.
Join us for a pre-concert chat about the evening’s program with Vice President of Artistic Planning Bob Neu, as well as guest artists and musicians from our orchestra, starting 45 minutes before the concert begins.
