OVERVIEW
With Artemis II making splashdown after a groundbreaking journey to the moon, we’re taking you on an epic journey of our own with the awe-inspiring Carmina Burana. Be sure to arrive early to explore innovations in space and technology created right here in Utah—this is an evening that represents both art and technology that pushes boundaries and leaves us amazed!
The rhythmic power of Orff’s Carmina Burana is unstoppable. With its massive orchestral forces and exhilarating chorus, this cantata celebrates the wheel of fortune in all its glorious ups and downs. “O Fortuna”? You know it. And it’s going to blow you away.
Debussy’s Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune sets the stage with its dreamlike Impressionism, transporting you to a world where a mythical creature lounges in the warmth of the afternoon sun. Plus, immerse yourself in Iman Habibi’s Zhian, a heartfelt tribute to the courageous people of Iran.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
Join us for a pre-concert chat about the evening’s program with guest artists and symphony musicians, held 45 minutes prior to the performance start time in the First Tier Room.
Before the concert, try on astronaut training VR headsets from Uplift Aerospace, find out how OxEon Energy created oxygen on Mars, and learn about the rocket and aircraft components supplied by Nammo Composite Solutions—you might even see a drone in flight thanks to Electrafly!
This performance is presented in partnership with 47G: Utah Aerospace & Defense, who shares the following message:
At 47G, our vision is to build the nation’s premier ecosystem for aerospace and defense companies. We convene industry, academic institutions, industry affiliates, and state and federal government to foster talent, fund entrepreneurship, and fuel innovation.
In other words: we are building America’s deep tech frontier.
Carmina Burana reflects the spirit driving Utah’s aerospace and defense industry. Innovation in Concert reminds us that progress is powerful and shaped by forces larger than any one organization. Just as a symphony unites individual musicians in precise coordination to create something bold and consequential, aerospace and defense innovation depends on industry, academic institutions, affiliates, and state and federal government working in harmony.
Through 47G, innovation happens not in isolation—but in concert.
