Kevin Shumway

Kevin grew up in Holladay, Utah. As a teenager, he studied with Stephen Emerson, Assistant Principal Cellist of the Utah Symphony. Kevin attended Northwestern University, studying cello performance with Hans Jensen. In his senior year he won the School of Music Concerto Competition. At the National Repertory Orchestra’s summer festival he was soloist with Joseph Silverstein, violinist and conductor. His final year of conservatory training took place at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied with Stephen Ge
