Micah Harrow
Micah Harrow serves as Acting Principal Timpani with the Utah Symphony. He previously served as Principal timpani with the New World Symphony and the New Mexico Philharmonic. Aside from these orchestras, he has performed with the San Francisco Symphony, Oslo Philharmonic, Kansas City Symphony, and Rochester Philharmonic.
Micah grew up in Honeoye Falls, NY, playing with his family’s band and studying at the Eastman Community Music School with Ruth Cahn, former percussionist with the Rochester Philharmonic. He went on to attend the Eastman School (BM) and the San Francisco Conservatory (MM). He also spent his summers at the Aspen Music Festival, Texas Music Festival and National Orchestral Institute.
Micah is fortunate to have performed on two GRAMMY nominated albums, one with the San Francisco Symphony, and one with the National Orchestral Institute Philharmonic.
Aside from music, Micah is an avid freshwater angler and general enjoyer of the outdoors. He also enjoys trying to speak French with his soon-to-be wife, Joëlla.
