OVERVIEW

Intensity has a name, and it’s Dvorák’s Symphony No. 7! With sweeping melodies, dramatic flair, and a whole lot of heart, this late Romantic masterpiece is an inspiration to hear.

Leading into this powerful experience is Unsuk Chin’s subito con forza (“suddenly with power”), a vibrant tribute to Beethoven’s legacy. Written for Beethoven’s 250th birthday, Chin channels the late composer’s energy with a fresh twist—and plenty of hidden references to find. This sets the perfect stage for Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3, where the piano meets the orchestra to reveal both turbulent intensity and serene lyricism.
