OVERVIEW
Enjoy vivid, radiant, and immediately recognizable 18th century works to delight and inspire. The renowned Nicholas McGegan brings his Baroque expertise to this program in collaboration with the Brigham Young University Singers and Concert Choir.
Baroque repertoire is a relatively rare treat on the Abravanel Hall stage. Still, you’re almost certain to recognize Bach’s popular “Brandenburg” Concerto No. 4 and the famous “Air on the G String” from his Orchestral Suite No. 3—its grace and elegance often heard at wedding ceremonies. Or perhaps you love Haydn’s Ave Regina, a soprano prayer for guidance and protection from the Virgin Mary, or Vivaldi’s Gloria, a joyous masterpiece for choir and orchestra. This is a concert made for lovers of all things bright, classic, and refined.
