Stephen Hough performs Rachmaninoff (in Ogden)
Val A. Browning Center
1901 University Circle Ogden, Utah Get Directions

OVERVIEW

Following a recent injury and after consultation with his doctors, Music Director Thierry Fischer regrets that he is unable to travel to conduct his scheduled performances with the Utah Symphony in November. He is eagerly anticipating his return to Utah in February.

Most pianists regard and even fear Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 as the most difficult in the repertoire, but Stephen Hough—who Music Director Thierry Fischer praises as “the perfect soloist”—is sure to take on the challenge with grace.

The orchestra will open the program with Wagner’s Overture to Tannhäuser, in place of Unsuk Chin’s Chorós Chordón; we will program Chin’s work on a future season.
