Jonathan Chiou

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Jonathan studied with Richard Deane and Sue Welty of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra throughout middle school and high school. Chiou attended Northwestern University for his Bachelor of Music degree where he studied with Gail Williams and Jon Boen. Additionally, he attended the University of Cincinnati for his Master of Music degree where he studied with Denise Tryon and Sean Yancer.

Prior to joining the Utah Symphony, Chiou has been an associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and has performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. He has attended several music festivals including the Brevard Music Festival, Chautauqua Music Festival, and Aspen Music Festival.
