OVERVIEW

Audience-favorite Pablo Sáinz Villegas is back to perform Joaquín Rodrigo’s Fantasía para un gentilhombre, written for the legendary guitarist Andrés Segovia, along with three surprise encores. Brazilian-born Marcelo Lehninger, music director of the Grand Rapids Symphony since 2016, conducts.

Additional Highlights Include:

Felix Mendelssohn composed the String Sinfonia No.10 well before his works became famous at the young age of 14!

Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg’s Holberg Suite was written for the 200th birthday celebration of distinguished Norwegian writer Ludvig Holberg and features three dances in a French Baroque-inspired style infused with Romanticism.

Estimated concert length: 60 minutes (with no intermission). Recorded in January 2021.
